Yaiza
This village has
been voted the most beautiful in Spain more than once and is often referred
to in guide books as the most beautiful in Lanzarote. Certainly it is
pristine, tranquil and in a nice setting. It was very lucky not to have been
consumed by volcanic eruptions of Timanfaya.
To be honest,
there is not a lot there but it is a very pleasant spot to wander around and
enjoy the plants/flowers, the authentic Canarian atmosphere - and there is
the odd bar!
You may catch
sight of the odd campesino (field worker) toiling amongst the vines in the
semi-circular walled vineries.
